at Highpoint Episcopal Community Church, 4945 High Point Rd. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30342.

These concerts are free and open to the public; however, donations to support
the mission and programs of Capitol City Opera are always welcome.

In honor of International Women’s Day 2019, join us for, “Empowered: A Celebration of Women’s Voices.” This recital explores music and text written solely by women, each with unique experiences and perspectives spanning decades and continents. Featuring music from of one of the first recognized female composers, Barbara Strozzi, French sisters Nadia and Lili Boulanger, American composer Libby Larsen, Cuban-born composer Tania León, African-American composer Florence Price, and with words by prolific figures such as Margaret Atwood, Sappho, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, and voices of the Suffragette movement. This special event will leave both women and men feeling empowered and inspired by the words and music of these amazing artists.
